Foresight Election

The belief that God's choice of individuals for salvation was based on His foreknowledge of their faith.


Foresight Election is a distinctively Arminian view of election.  This view believes that the foreknowledge of God includes our response to the offer of salvation.  Thus, God first sees our response of faith, and then He predestines us to salvation.  Romans 8:29 is the most commonly cited verse in support of this view:

"For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;"
