Cataphatic Theology

Describes God positively according to what He has revealed of Himself in Scripture and nature.

From the Greek preposition κατά meaning “down from” or “down into.”  Cataphatic theology describes God from His revelation that has come down to humanity.  This is normative theology and the opposite of Apophatic Theology.
